Clyde Shavers grew up in Washington State and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2013.  He served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years as a nuclear submarine officer and public affairs officer with tours in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.  He is pusrsuing a Juris Doctor degree at Yale Law School and serves on the board of Whidbey Veterans Resource Center (WVRC), Skagit Friendship House for Mount Vernon's homeless and working poor, and South Whidbey's Goosefoot for affordqble housing.  He is running for State Representative in the 10th Legislative District.

He live in Oak Harbor and is engaged to Jodi, a special education teacher and member of the National Guard.
